Audi Australia has confirmed the new A6 allroad quattro for local showrooms in the first half of 2027, priced from $127,900 before on-road costs. For the first time the jacked-up wagon can be had as a plug-in hybrid, giving the anti-SUV crowd a quieter, longer-legged option.
Two powertrains, petrol PHEV or diesel
The e-hybrid quattro pairs a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four with an electric motor and a 25.9kWh battery for 270kW and 500Nm, plus a claimed 87km of electric range. Above it, the TDI quattro uses a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel with 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance, making 220kW and 580Nm, from $137,900. Both run a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch and quattro all-wheel drive, with adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering standard. The regular Audi A6 sedan and Avant sit below the raised allroad.
Cartell Assessment
The allroad has always been the thinking buyer's alternative to a large SUV, and a plug-in hybrid with 87km of range makes the pitch stronger for anyone with a home charger. At $127,900 it is priced like a premium SUV, but it drives like a wagon, which is the whole point.
AU Outlook
Wagons remain a niche in Australia, yet Audi keeps backing the format. A PHEV allroad also gives company-car buyers a fringe-benefits-tax angle that the old diesel-only car never had.
