Chery's flagship Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid rounds out the brand's plug-in push, a large seven-seat SUV that headlines with up to 170km of electric-only range on the all-wheel-drive version. It carries the same cashback of up to $3,000 as the Tiggo 8 to the end of October.

Range, power and price

The front-drive Elite pairs a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine with electric drive for 225kW combined and up to 90km of electric range from a 19kWh battery. The all-wheel-drive Ultimate steps up to 315kW and a 34kWh battery for up to 170km of electric range. Pricing sits in the high $50,000s drive-away, with the Elite from about $57,750 drive-away in New South Wales and the Ultimate around $59,990 drive-away. The up to $3,000 cashback runs across the Tiggo 9 range to 31 October 2026.

Cartell Assessment

The number that matters is 170km. That is enough electric range for most families to run the all-wheel-drive Ultimate on the plug during the week and save the petrol engine for longer trips. Few seven-seat plug-ins offer this much electric range, though you pay flagship money for it, so get the drive-away figure for your state in writing.

AU Outlook

As with the Tiggo 8, the cashback sets the deadline. If the big-battery plug-in appeals, the end of October is the date to watch, and it is worth checking the drive-away price for your state before you commit.
