Mahindra has sharpened the price on its Scorpio seven seater, cutting up to $4,000 off 2025 build stock. The Mahindra Scorpio Z8+ now lands at $43,990 drive-away, a $4,000 saving, while the top Z8L+ drops $3,000 to $45,990 drive-away. The offer runs to 31 December 2026 and applies only to cars built in 2025.
What you get
Every Scorpio in the deal runs a 2.2 litre turbo-diesel four making 129 kW and 400 Nm, paired with a six-speed automatic and four-wheel drive, with seven seats as standard. That is the whole pitch: a ladder-frame diesel wagon with low-range gearing at a price most rivals cannot match. At $43,990 drive-away it is reckoned to be the cheapest seven-seat diesel SUV you can buy new in Australia.
Cartell Assessment
The Scorpio is not trying to out-polish a Toyota Kluger or a Prado. It sells seven seats, a diesel engine and real four-wheel drive for about the money a mid-spec small SUV costs. For a towing or touring family on a budget that is a genuine proposition, as long as you go in clear eyed on cabin finish and the newer brand's resale.
AU Outlook
This is 2025 build stock clearing before the cutoff, so the sharpest cars will move first. If the seven-seat diesel brief fits your driveway, it is worth a look before 31 December. Mahindra keeps widening its dealer network to chase these buyers, so servicing is less of a worry than it once was.
