Mercedes-Benz has confirmed Australian pricing for the first fully electric C-Class, with the C 400 4Matic opening at $105,700 before on-road costs. Orders are open now, and first deliveries are due in early 2027.
Big range, serious performance
The C 400 4Matic runs dual motors for 360kW and 800Nm, drives all four wheels, and claims 0 to 100km/h in 4.0 seconds. A 94kWh usable battery underpins a claimed WLTP range of up to 753km, with energy use rated at 16.1kWh per 100km. That range figure is among the strongest in the class and lands the electric C-Class squarely against the BMW i3, the Tesla Model 3 and the Polestar 2.
Cartell Assessment
A 753km claim is the headline here, and if real-world driving lands anywhere near it, range anxiety stops being part of the C-Class conversation. The sticking point is price: at $105,700 before on-road costs, this is a premium play, and the single C 400 4Matic grade leaves no cheaper entry point for now.
AU Outlook
A single-motor C 300 and hotter AMG versions are sold or planned overseas but are not confirmed for Australia. Expect Mercedes to watch demand before widening the local range.
